Andarta Therapeutics is developing a novel therapeutic approach designed to address Parkinson's unmet need.
The fattyacidopathy hypothesis proposes that dysregulated fatty acid metabolism plays an important role in driving the pathological processes underlying Parkinson’s disease. Alterations in lipid synthesis and handling may contribute to neuronal dysfunction, mitochondrial stress, and neurodegeneration.
By targeting FASN, AND-0765 is designed to correct these metabolic abnormalities and potentially modify disease biology at its root.
AND-0765 is a novel small-molecule drug candidate that has not yet been tested in humans. Andarta Therapeutics plans to initiate clinical trials in 2026, marking an important step toward translating this new scientific insight into a potential disease-modifying therapy for people living with Parkinson’s disease.
