Press Release: Andarta Therapeutics to Advance Parkinson’s Disease Research through Agreement with Teva and Grant from The Michael J. Fox Foundation

Singapore and PARSIPPANY, NJ, September 8, 2026 – Andarta Therapeutics Pte Ltd., a biotech company focused on Parkinson’s disease (PD), and Teva Pharmaceuticals, a U.S. affiliate of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., today announced that Andarta Therapeutics has obtained rights to advance Teva’s fatty acid synthase (FASN) inhibitor program. In exchange, Teva will receive an equity stake in Andarta Therapeutics and retain a right of first negotiation (ROFN) to re-acquire rights to the compounds at a future date.

This initiative, aimed at accelerating the development of innovative treatments for PD, is supported by a grant from The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research (MJFF).

The lead candidate from the FASN inhibitor program has successfully completed Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) toxicology studies, positioning Andarta Therapeutics to initiate a Phase 1 clinical trial in early 2027. The agreement also includes rights to associated FASN inhibitors, further supporting Andarta’s efforts to advance this program for PD.

The grant provided by The Michael J. Fox Foundation was awarded through its Therapeutic Pipeline Program, which assists companies developing therapeutics for PD. The funding will support Andarta Therapeutics’ development of FASN inhibitors in PD. FASN is a novel disease modification target from the work of Professor Richard Wade-Martins of the University of Oxford, who is also a co-founder of Andarta Therapeutics.
